The Quickest & Safest Way to Remove Your Acrylics at Home ๐Ÿ’…๐Ÿพ

via @Pinterest

At some point in life, there will be a time where you can’t get to to your nail tech to get a fill in if you have acrylics and you’re left with the choice of trying someone new or removing them yourself. As of now, the latter is pretty much our only option thanks to the current virus going around. But instead of grabbing a card out of your wallet to pop your acrylic nails off, try this method instead!

The Process:
1. Grab a nail file and remove the shiny top layer of gel polish.
2. Soak some cotton balls in pure acetone
3. Place the cotton ball on your nail and wrap it tightly with foil paper. Depending on the size of the cotton ball, you may need more than one.
4. Once you get all nails wrapped, let everything sit for at least 30 minutes.
5. The acrylic will separate from your nail beds and you should be able to lift it up further using an orange wood stick.
6. If the acrylic won’t fully detach just yet, repeat the process.
7. You might be left with a tiny bit of residue. Don’t get rough with it, just buff it down as much as you can to smooth it out.

Another alternative is the bowl methodโ€”where you fill a bowl with acetone and soak your nails in it. The technique is alright, but it will dry your hands out and can take a little over an hour.ย

*Tip* If you don’t want your cuticles to get dried out throughout either process, a light layer of petroleum jelly prior to using the acetone will do the trick!

What you’ll need:
(A lot of the items, you’ll probably already have. But if not, I looked through the first page for each item and chose the ones that had the quickest arrival times ๐Ÿ™‚

Afterwards, your nails should be setย  for whatever you choose to do next. I’ll most likely be throwing on some press on nails. How about you? Drop a comment down below โ™ฅ
