Temporary Lipstick Tattoo ๐Ÿ’„

Permanent makeup has come a long way in the past decade. Brow, liner, and beauty mark tattoos have been revamped and no longer look like tattoos, they look completely natural! The latest type of natural makeup tattoo is called lip blushing.

How It’s Done
It’s a semi-permanent way to enhance, correct, and shape your lips for one to three years. Instead of using regular ink, a semi-permanent pigment is used in a method called pixelating. Tiny dots of pigment are placed on the lips and result in a natural looking shade. You can color correct areas you want to be one shade or brighter, you can use lip blushing to give a more pronounced shape, or you can just choose a shade you want your lips to be for 3 years. If you’re looking for a dramatic change or solid lines, this definitely isn’t the tattoo for you. Lip blushing is meant to be subtle and give off super natural vibes!

The Cost
Lip blushing will run you between $600 and $1,500 (depending on who you go to of course).ย

What to Expect
You’ll be asked what type of shade you’re going for and from there, they’ll work with you to customize a color you’ll love. If you want the appearance of fuller lips, a more defined cupids bow, or if your lips are asymmetrical and you’d like them evened out, then would be the time to mention it.

Depending on how much space there is to cover, it will take between an hour and 2 hours to perfect and get everything blushed out. And I know, a tattoo on your lips sounds really painful but thankfully, a topical anesthesia is used to reduce the pain. According to Kate Foster at Glamour, “Aside from a slight pinching feeling at the beginning, the sensation was similar to someone using a finger to apply slight pressure. That was it.”

After the tattoo is finished, your lips will pretty much swell up and it may look as if you got injections (see some of the below photos), but the good news is, the swelling goes down within 5 days. Lots of lip balm will be necessary during that time but your lips willย go back to normal. While it’s healing, the color will dramatically darken but don’t freak out! It will flake off and soon reveal your new shade.ย

What do you think? Would you consider getting your lips blushed? I definitely would ๐Ÿ™ƒThat MAC Taupe shade that I love to wear, just waking up with that shade would be amazing ๐Ÿ˜‚ย
